Man shot multiple times in LR incident

— Police are searching for a suspect after a Monday evening shooting sent one man to the hospital.

According to a release from the Little Rock Police Department, authorities received the call at 5:41 p.m. of shots fired at 5400 West 51st Street, near the Discount Tobacco store.

When officers arrived, they found Jessie Beasley, 32, on top of a car with gunshot wounds to his buttocks and stomach. Beasley was transported to University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he was listed in stable condition.

According to the incident report, Beasley told officers that Roderick Williams shot him. Beasley also said that he was shot by Williams around four years ago, the report said.

Beasley told officers at the scene that he hit Williams with baseball bat during the confrontation.

Williams is described as a black male, 26-28 years old. Police think he left the area in a white sport utility vehicle with an Arkansas license plate number 565 RLB.

The investigation is ongoing and there have been no arrests made at this time.
