LITTLE ROCK — When it comes to yogurt these days, Greek is the word.
The high-protein, low-fat dairy product is all the rage. And the Yoplait brand has new varieties.
There are two new flavors of 4-ounce Greek yogurt cups: a creamy coconut and a lively cherry pomegranate. Both tasted more like the flavors specified and less like Greek yogurt, which can be tart and off-putting. One serving contains 160 calories (which is more calories than “light” yogurt, but the 12 grams of protein makes it more filling).
Another new offering is Yoplait Greek with Granola - a fruit-on-the-bottom style of yogurt that comes with Nature Valley cereal to stir in. We thought the crunch added a little something to the blueberry flavor (also available in strawberry and peach).
Too bad it also added a lot of calories (90 of them!).
The yogurt alone has 140 calories.
