DIAMOND BAY AREA, Baxter County — A Baxter County man drowned in Lake Norfolk Thursday afternoon after suffering from an epileptic seizure, according to the Baxter County sheriff's office.
In a news release, Sheriff John F. Montgomery said 43-year-old Robert Ray Comstock of the Hand Cove area was fishing on a private boat dock at Lake Norfolk with his mother. Comstock suffered a seizure and fell off the dock into the lake.
Comstock was in the water for at least 20 minutes before nearby residents were able to pull him out and before emergency personnel arrived at the scene. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Comstock had suffered from epilepsy since childhood, according to the report.
