GREENBRIER — Eastside, Westside and Wooster elementary schools’ fifth grade gifted-and-talented groups comp eted in this year’s Youth Entrepreneur Showcase.
This Arkansas competition is open to grades 5-8 and challenges students to apply what they learn in school to a real-world setting.
On Jan. 27, to culminate Y.E.S., the first-ever Greenbrier fifth-grade Talented and Gifted Expo was held to display the teams’ inventions, along with their business and marketing efforts.
Since 2005, a total of 1,315 students representing 38 schools have participated in the Y.E.S. program, and more than $21,500 in cash has been awarded.
Y.E.S. is managed by the Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation, an affiliate of Arkansas Capital Corp.
