Heritage House Inn will shut down and its tenants evacuated after a judge ruled Thursday that the motel couldn't stay open in its current condition.
Circuit Judge Wendell Griffin said the motel at 7500 South University Avenue had to stay shut until it could be brought up to code.
Tenants will be asked to leave the premises as soon as possible. The Department of Housing and Neighborhood Programs plans to assist those in finding safer housing.
