RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — Stacy Lewis has signed a sponsorship deal with KPMG as she defends her title this week in the LPGA Tour’s first major championship of the year, the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
Lewis (Arkansas Razorbacks) joins four-time major champion Phil Mickelson as part of the company’s sponsorship program.
While corporate deals are common in men’s golf, most sponsorship in women’s golf is related to apparel or golf equipment - not a major financial services firm.
Terms of the sponsorship agreement were not disclosed.
Lewis won the Kraft Nabisco Championship last year for her first major victory.
