Tea Party endorses Cotton in 4th district

— A Tea Party political action committee has announced its endorsement of Republican Tom Cotton in Arkansas 4th Congressional District race.

Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer said in a news release Tuesday that Cotton represents “exactly” the type of conservative the organization is seeking.

Cotton is a management consultant and faces Texarkana police officer John Cowart and Beth Anne Rankin — a former aide to Gov. Mike Huckabee — for the GOP nomination.

Attorney Q. Byrum Hurst, state Sen. Gene Jeffress and businessman D.C. Morrison are running for the Democratic nomination.

Incumbent Democratic Rep. Mike Ross is not seeking re-election.
