Dog attacks 3 children in Jacksonville

A dog attacked three children while they were playing in Jacksonville last night, according to a report from the Pulaski County sheriff' s office.

An officer responded to 6406 Swagerty Drive around 7 p.m. yesterday after Ian Woolverton, the children's father, called authorities, saying a dog had bitten the children.

Woolverton said his children-– ages 3, 4 and 5-– were on the trampoline in the front yard when he heard them screaming. He said he looked outside and saw a dog that he had never seen before with its head through the bottom of the trampoline, trying to bite the children, the report said.

All three had been bitten on their legs, the report said.

Animal control responded, found and took the dog, which was a pit bull mix, according to Lt. Carl Minden of the sheriff's office.
