Small rally held at UALR for DREAM Act

— Supporters of the DREAM Act held a small rally on the campus of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock to raise awareness about the proposed bill.

Supporters of the DREAM Act, a new bill that would give new opportunities to illegal and undocumented immigrants in the United States, held a small rally on the campus of Arkansas-Little Rock.

A gathering of about 15-20 people came to the event wielding banners and signs for the cause, which if implemented, would give new opportunities to undocumented and illegal immigrants within the United States.

The bill initially got through the House of Representatives, but was shot down by the Senate earlier this year. Activist and rally coordinator Rosa Velasquez said that a group of supporters have shifted their focus from getting it passed on a national level, to getting it done on a state level.
