Arkansas and Mississippi State begin postseason play with some momentum after completing three-game sweeps to end the regular season. But the Bulldogs’ series victory over nationally ranked Kentucky was more impressive than Arkansas’ three victories over a Tennessee team that finished last in the SEC.
Still, Arkansas showed some life, especially at the plate, where the Razorbacks hit .342 while winning four consecutive games last week. Arkansas has the pitching depth to win in a tournament format but it’s hard to predict how today’s game will go, especially when neither team is using its top pitcher.
Mississippi State is a hot team and the Bulldogs have some incentive after losing 2 of 3 at home to the Razorbacks during the regular season.
