SUPERMARKET SLEUTH

Beverage, spices fit on summer store list

— Anheuser-Busch has created a drink that’s ideal for summer. The Bud Light Lime-A-Rita is a malt beverage that blends the traditional margarita flavors (minus the tequila) with a splash of Bud Light Lime. They’ll be sold in 12-packs of 8-ounce cans, 24-packs of 12-ounce bottles and single 24-ounce cans.

The beverage gets the flavor of a margarita pretty much right, but it is very, very sweet.

Bud Light Lime-A-Ritas should be sold at liquor stores as well as most major supermarkets and convenience stores that sell alcohol.

Luna, a company that markets a delicious line of nutrition bars for women, recently introduced Fiber Bars in Peanut Butter Strawberry, Blueberry Vanilla and Chocolate Raspberry flavors.

Luna Fiber Bars are rolling into stores this month, and will probably be found in the “health food” aisle. They should cost about $1.50 each.
