GADGETS & GIZMOS

— The person who invented the self-cleaning oven definitely deserves recognition.

But the person who invented this Nonstick Oven Liner from Chef’s Planet deserves more.

The flexible liner is made from Polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon)-coated fiberglass and is heat safe up to 550 degrees.

We spilled and cooked a variety of foods - intentionally and through normal cooking - on our liner including pork fat, berry pie filling, lasagna bubble-over and stray pizza cheese. Each spill wiped clean with minimal effort.

The liner cannot be placed directly on the oven floor - doing so could block the vents in the oven and/or damage the oven and liner. But you needn’t give up prime real estate, the liner is placed on the lowest rack, and baking pans can be placed directly on the liner.

The only drawback to this is if you’re baking cookies or using a baking sheet, as it can be difficult to pull the baking sheet out of the oven without dislodging the liner.

The liners are available in a variety of sizes for toaster ovens, countertop ovens, 23-inch and 30-inch ovens.

$20 for 23-inch liner
