Innocent plea after LR chase, shootout

— A Louisiana man at the center of a Monday night shootout and foot chase with two bail bondsmen in northwest Little Rock pleaded innocent Tuesday, according to court documents.

Facing two charges of agg ravated assault and felony possession of a firearm, Jazman Delmore, 24, of Marrero, La., entered his plea to District Judge Alice Lightle.

Delmore’s plea came the day after two Louisiana bail bondsmen tried to take him into custody at 400 S. Bowman Road. Delmore fled from Alroy Allen and Michael Comstock, an incident report states.

Allen chased Delmore on foot while Comstock followed in a vehicle.

During the chase, Delmore turned and fired a weapon several times at Allen, who returned fire, the report states.

According to the report, Allen took Delmore into custody on the side of a Little Caesars restaurant a few blocks away.

No one was injured during the shootout although a vehicle was struck by a bullet, the report states

More headlines

Delmore remains in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

The bondsmen were not charged, according to Little Rock police spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis.
