Lake wind advisory in effect for much of Arkansas

— The National Weather Service has issued a lake wind advisory for 45 counties in Arkansas.

The advisory will remain in effect from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Forecasters say a pressure gradient will tighten over a four-state region and cause southerly winds to increase, which will make for rough boating on area lakes. Small boats may be especially susceptible to capsizing.

The weather service says winds of 15 mph to 25 mph are possible, along with gusts up to 35 mph. High profile vehicles, such as large trucks, also will be affected.
