A North Little Rock man was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after he was shot in the buttocks by an acquaintance, police said.

About 4:45 p.m., officers were called to 2128 Fendley Drive and spoke with Christopher Adams, who told officers he was arguing with a man in the driveway when the man pulled out a gun and shot him at least once, Sgt. Brian Dedrick said.

Adams was taken to a local hospital with injuries Dedrick said were not lifethreatening.

The gunman was not identified by police Thursday afternoon, but Dedrick said he and Adams knew each other.

The gunman was described only as black and having dreadlocks.

2 LR businesses robbed by gunmen

Police are investigating two business robberies that occurred within three hours of each other in southwest Little Rock.

About 10:54 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a robbery at the Exxon convenience store at 10423 Chicot Road. They spoke with store clerks who said two armed men - one with a rifle and the other with a handgun - entered the business, took an undisclosed amountof money from the business and fled on foot, a police report states.

One gunman was described as black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. The other was described as black, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds.

About 1:50 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to another business robbery about 6 miles away at the Roadway Inn at 2401 W. 65th St.

An employee told police he was helping a customer at the front door when two men armed with guns entered the motel, a report states.

The gunmen took an undisclosed amount of money from the front desk and fled on foot.

Both suspects were described as black, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
