Texas man dies after fight, fall

LITTLE ROCK — A Texas man died Saturday morning after an altercation with another man outside a Conway apartment complex, police said.

Terry Ragan, 39, fell and hit his head during a fight with an acquaintance at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Willow Street about 1 a.m., police department spokesman LaTresha Woodruff said.

Officers found Ragan on the ground and unresponsive, Woodruff said. Attempts by emergency medical personnel to revive Ragan were unsuccessful, she said.

The man Ragan was fighting with has been questioned and released, and no charges have been filed, Woodruff said. Witnesses told police Ragan may have initiated the fight.

Several witnesses said Ragan had been drinking heavily and causing disturbances with family members before the altercation, Woodruff said.

The exact cause of Ragan’s death remains under investigation, she said.
