— Arkansas will face Sam Houston State on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament at Rice University.

The Razorbacks (39-19) are the No. 2 seed in the Houston Regional, which also includes Rice and Prairie View.

Sam Houston State (38-20) earned an at-large bid after winning the regular season Southland Conference championship.

It will be the second trip to Houston this season for Arkansas. The Razorbacks won two of three games at the Houston College Classic in March at MinuteMaid Park.

The winner of the Houston Regional will be matched against the winner of the Waco Regional in the super regional round. Baylor, Dallas Baptist, Texas-Arlington and Oral Roberts are in the Waco field.

Arkansas won 22 of its first 25 games this season and was ranked as high as No. 3 nationally, but is just 17-16 since. The Razorbacks lost both games at last week's Southeastern Conference Tournament, scoring a combined one run in losses to Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
