Motorcycle crash kills Oklahoman

— An Oklahoma man was killed Saturday after he was knocked off his motorcycle into the path of an oncoming pickup, according to an Arkansas State Police fatality report.

At 4:05 p.m., Stephen Ellis, 53, of Owasso, Okla., was killed on U.S. 62 in Green Forest, the report said.

James Scott, 62, of Spavinaw, Okla., was driving a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on the highway when he tried to make a right hand turn onto a private drive. Ellis, driving a 2006 Harley-Davidson, rear-ended the other motorcycle, causing him to fall into the westbound lane, the report said.

A state police dispatcher said Ellis was hit by a westbound 2009 Chevrolet 2500, driven by John Gass, 72, of Berryville.

Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene.

Scott was injured and taken to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, according to the report.
