Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/STEPHEN B. THORNTON -3-15-2012- A construction worker attaches safety wires on a overpass which will connect I-430 southbound to I-630 eastbound as work continues at the Big Rock interchange at I-430 and I-630 in Little Rock.

— Officials with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department are reminding drivers to avoid the Interstate 630 and Interstate 430 interchange on Wednesday due to the massive lane shuffling that will occur.

Workers will begin the shift at 9 a.m., with delays expected for the next 18-21 hours. At least one southbound and northbound lane will stay open during the shift.

The shift that will have the greatest impact on traffic will be the I-430 southbound exit ramp for I-630 east and Financial Center Parkway.

After the shifting is over, the next exit with be south of its current location. The current exit will remain, but will be a Markham Street-only exit. The second new exit will serve as the new off ramp for I-630 and Financial Center Parkway.

The shifting is being done to accommodate the next stage of construction.
