— The University of Arkansas said Thursday it is nearing completion of a contract naming Pepsi as its exclusive non-alcoholic cold beverage sponsor and provider.

The 10-year deal is expected to take effect July 1. Terms have not yet been finalized, but university officials said it would be the "largest beverage sponsorship agreement" in the school's history.

“The university welcomes the opportunity to partner with PepsiCo to bring a popular line of beverages to the university community and campus visitors,” Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Donald O. Pederson said in a statement. “... The combination of resources the university will receive as a result of this partnership will benefit our students and campus community for years to come.”

As part of the deal, Pepsi products will be supplied at campus dining facilities and vending machines and at Razorback athletic venues.

The University previously had an agreement with Coca-Cola as its cold beverage supplier.
