A Ramsey County sheriff's spokesman says the pickup crashed into Gordie's Place in Little Canada about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A sheriff's deputy was passing by and saw the woman's eastbound pickup cross the westbound lanes, take out a utility pole and then crash well into the side of the bar.

The Star Tribune reports several people were briefly trapped at the bar.

Five people in the bar were taken to a hospital, two with serious injuries. The 51-year-old driver also was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries or a possible medical complication.

Authorities say medical reasons apparently contributed to the crash.
