— ONGOING FAST Registration CONWAY - Registration is under way for Conway Regional Therapy Centers’ Functional Athletic Speed Training sports-performance program. FAST is designed to enhance the performance of young athletes in almost every sport, including basketball, football, baseball, soccer, track, volleyball, tennis, cheerleading, wrestling, cross country, softball, swimming and golf. FRIDAY AND SATURDAY Sacred Heart School Bazaar MORRILTON - The annual Sacred Heart School Bazaar will be held from 6-11 p.m. Friday and from 5 p.m. until midnight Saturday in downtown Morrilton. The bazaar will feature a silent auction, games, a video-game arcade, a horse-racing game, crafts, homemade food items and concessions. An all-youcan-eat dinner of spaghetti and sausage, turkey and dressing, bread, desserts and more will be served from 5-8:30 p.m. Saturday. The dinner will cost $13 for adults and $6 for children 4-12. Children 3 and under may eat free when accompanied by an adult. Flower Show DARDANELLE - The Dardanelle Garden Club, the Booneville Garden Club and the Russellville Hoe and Hope Garden Club will hold the Standard Flower Show on Friday and Saturday at Dardanelle Church of Christ, 209 Union St. The Lure of the River show is being held in celebration of National Garden Week. Relay for Life HEBER SPRINGS - The Relay for Life of Cleburne County, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, will be held in Spring Park in Heber Springs from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. Civil War Plaque Dedication MORRILTON - A Civil War plaque dedication will be held at 10 a.m. on the east plaza of the Morrilton Depot Museum to honor Conway County citizens who served in the military during the Civil War. Flag Retirement Ceremony MAUMELLE - The MaumelleVeterans Memorial committee will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 10 a.m. at Lake Willastein Park near the memorial site. Attendees are asked to bring used and tattered flags that are no longer appropriate to fly. Boxes are being provided at the Kroger store entrances in Maumelle for collecting the flags. TUESDAY Film Screening CONWAY - The Faulkner County Library will show the film The Future of Food at 7 p.m. The film offers an in-depth investigation into the truth behind the unlabeled, patented, genetically engineered foods that have filled grocery-store shelves for the past decades. Caregiver Workshops CONWAY - The Conway Regional Senior Evaluation and Counseling Center has scheduled a series of free Savvy Caregiver workshops, designed for caregivers of individuals with dementiarelated illnesses, including Alzheimer’s disease. The two-hour workshops will be held every two weeks from 4-6 p.m. on Mondays, beginning June 11. Participants are encouraged to attend all workshops. Morrilton 5K, Tour de Oink MORRILTON - The action will begin at 7 a.m. June 16 at the Conway County Courthouse, when runners in the Morrilton 5K will leave the starting area for their competition. Then, at 7:30 a.m., the Tour de Oink will begin from the same location, with bikers choosing a 14- or 40-mile option. 5K Volksmarch LESLIE - The 5K Volksmarch, sponsored by the Searcy County Chamber of Commerce and held in conjunction with the 58th annual Leslie Homecoming, will begin at 8 a.m. June 16 in Leslie. For June, the date will be June 26. Prizes will be awarded for first bunco rolled, most buncos rolled and most games won. Prizes will vary from donations to cash prizes.
