A recently elected Little Rock School Board member has died, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has confirmed.
Michael Peterson died in his home Thursday morning, the Little Rock School District confirmed to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
Peterson was elected in September to represent Zone 6 for the district.
The board must appoint a new member by a majority vote within 30 days, the district said.
