Two killed in I-630 wreck

— A passenger and driver were killed Monday after they were ejected from a sport utility vehicle that overturned on Interstate 630 in Little Rock, authorities said.

It happened about 1 a.m. as 22-year-old Sara Besancon drove a 2001 Chevy Trailblazer west on the highway near the Fair Park Boulevard. exit, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report.

Police say the vehicle veered out of control and overturned twice, ejecting Besancon and passenger Tawny Rodriguez, 22, of Alexander.

Rodriguez was dead at the scene from unspecified injuries. Besancon, of Mabelvale, was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, where she was pronounced dead later Monday morning.

Rodriguez and Besancon were the 451st and 452nd people to die in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
