LITTLE ROCK A pilot whose single-engine plane crashed Wednesday in Conway has died, authorities said Thursday.
Robert Allen III, 65, was airlifted to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock after suffering critical injuries in the crash at the Conway Municipal Airport. The crash happened about noon Wednesday.
Conway Police Department spokesman LaTresha Woodruff said Allen was pronounced dead later Wednesday night.
Authorities said it appeared Allen's plane experienced some kind of engine trouble when it turned back and attempted to land at the airport shortly after taking off.
No other injuries were reported.
