It’ll be Beethoven, Blue Jeans and pipa (a Chinese stringed instrument similar to a lute) this weekend for the Arkansas Symphony’s annual Beethoven & Blue Jeans concerts, 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Center Music Hall, West Markham Street and Broadway, Little Rock. Premier pipa player Wu Man solos in Tan Dun’s Concerto for String Orchestra and Pipa; Philip Mann also conducts Ludwig van Beethoven’s Creatures of Prometheus overture and Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.
