— Thousands of runners lined the streets of the River Market on Saturday morning for Little Rock's first Color Run.

Participants dressed in white shirts run and walk this 5K, where at every kilometer, colored powder is thrown, covering their shirts in color.

By the end of the race, runners no longer had white shirts, all colors covered their shirts has they crossed the finish line.

Kent Phippen, Color Run director, said the run began in January of 2012.

"The best thing [about the run] is that anyone can do it, and it's just for fun," Phippen said. "It gets everybody out of the house and off of the couch."

"The Happiest 5K on the Planet," as the run's website describes it, lived up to its name as runners finished the race with huge smiles on their faces.

"This is going to be the best motivator to get yourself into good health," Nate Willis II, a participant in the run, said. "It's very fun, the [sense] of support is very phenomenal. It is the best run on the face of this earth."
