Shortly after 3 a.m., officers responded to West 39th and Katherine streets, where they spoke with a woman who said she had found a woman lying in the street, Little Rock police spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said in an e-mail. Officers then found Lacrisa Scott, 33, who had been shot at least once, dead in the street.

Scott’s husband, Deshaun Scott, 32, of 7908 W. 32nd St., met with investigators at police headquarters and, after waiving his Miranda rights, admitted shooting his wife, an arrest report states.

Scott was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He was being held Saturday night at the Pulaski County jail. Bail had not been set.

Additional details about the case were not released Saturday night.

Lacrisa Scott’s death is the 45th homicide in Little Rock this year. The Police Department includes the May 23 accidental shooting death of 14-year-old Tyjuan Woodard in its homicide count.

On this date in 2011, the department had recorded 28 homicides, ending the year with 37.
