Police: Woman strikes, tries to bite officer

— A North Little Rock woman is accused of ignoring a police officer's commands to stop and then striking him on the head when he moved to arrest her Sunday, authorities said.

Adriene A. Goodman, 50, is facing preliminary charges of second-degree assault, obstructing government operations and resisting arrest, according to a North Little Rock Police Department report.

Police say Goodman shortly after 1 p.m. pulled up to a traffic stop involving a relative, got out and headed to the car, walking around an officer who signaled and told her to stop.

The officer then moved to arrest Goodman as she arrived at the stopped car.

"Ms. Goodman yelled out to let go of her and then hit me on the head with a set of keys in her left hand," the officer wrote in the report, noting a second officer then helped take Goodman into custody. "... While we tried to handcuff Ms. Goodman, she tried to pull away and bite me."

Goodman was then arrested and taken to the Pulaski County jail. The officer was not injured.
