LITTLE ROCK An 18-year-old driver from Harrisburg died Tuesday night in a head-on collision in Jonesboro, authorities said.
Arkansas State Police say Gunner W. Weeks was driving a 2002 Toyota north on U.S. 63 when the vehicle veered across a grassy median south of Dan Avenue about 6:45 p.m.
According to a preliminary report, the Toyota then struck a southbound GMC truck head-on.
Weeks died from unspecified injuries. The GMC driver, identified as 29-year-old Chad Harbison of Jonesboro, was taken to St. Bernards hospital in Jonesboro. No information on his condition was released.
Weeks was the 468th person to die in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
