100 YEARS AGO Nov. 16, 1912 TEXARKANA — For the first time in its history, Texarkana is being served by girls instead of boy messengers. Manager B.H. Arter of the local Western Union Telegraph office inaugurated the innovation yesterday, giving as the reason his inability to obtain and keep in the service boys that are efficient and reliable.
