— Jillian Ashton Gregory and Joshua Sherman Mayes exchanged marriage vows at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at First Baptist Church, Benton. Officiating were the Rev. Rick Grant of the church and the Rev. Blake Ligon of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

The bride is the daughter of Jana and Jim Gregory of Benton. She is the granddaughter of Clara and the late Bob Gregory and Louise and the late Maj. Denton A. Johnson, all of Benton.

The groom is the son of Brenda and the late Craig Mayes of Little Rock. His grandparents are the late Anna May and Elmer Cornelius Mayes of Jonesboro and the late Anna Jane and Madison Buel McHalffey of Poughkeepsie.

The chancel held a pair of bronze arches decorated with roses, ranunculus, magnolia leaves, ruscus, and hot pink carnations. Music was by flutist Glenda Bloxom and organist Lisa Parker Hester, both of Benton.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a strapless ivory satin mermaidstyle gown with a sweetheart bodice and embellished with beaded lace appliques of freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals over the layered net skirt. She carried a hand-tied clutch of hot pink roses, orange lilies, ranunculus and peacock feathers along with two picture lockets with photos of her late grandfathers.

Serving as the bride’s honor attendants were Jacie Gregory of Fayetteville, sister of the bride, and Joy Shults Ligon of Jonesboro. Bridesmaids were Meghan Mc-Cone Fiero of Houston, Maegan Nicholson Dyson of Conway and Allison Green Drennon of Little Rock.

They wore ocean-blue strapless gowns of chiffon with draped bodices, ruched waistlines and full skirts. Their hand-tied bouquets were filled with ivory roses, ranunculus and fiddlehead fern.

The groom’s honor attendants were Logan Oliver and Taylor Carlisle McGrew, both of Jacksonville. Groomsmen were Michael Halbrook of Memphis, Bryan Bell of Cabot and Kale Simpson of North Little Rock. Guests were seated by Danny Sellers of Little Rock; Todd McGuire of Fort Worth; Ronnie Dickerson of Jacksonville; Hunter Johnson and Cruz Johnson, both of Benton and cousins of the bride; and Matt Gregory of Jacksonville.

A reception at Selph Hall at the church followed the ceremony.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, in health services administration. She was a member of the UCA cheer squad for four years and a member of Sigma Kappa. She is an honor graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a master’s degree in business administration. She is a faculty affairs coordinator with the Psychiatric Research Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Arkansas State University at Jonesboro with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. He was a four-year member of the ASU baseball team. He is the Governor’s Council on Fitness Coordinator for Arkansas.

After a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will reside in Bryant.
