— Renee Nina Dowbnia and Thomas Glen Cole II were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Alda’s Magnolia Hill. Jack Lassiter, uncle of the groom, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Luba and Louis Strehl of Decatur, Tenn. She is the granddaughter of Louise and the late Paul Dowbnia of Totowa, N.J.

Parents of the groom are Thomas Cole and the late Lynn Wilson, both of Little Rock. His grandparents are Eleanor and Robert Wilson of Little Rock.

The altar held a fall arrangement of red and orange wedding flowers and lanterns lined the aisle.

The bride wore a fit-and-flare gown of draped ivory organza with a ruched sweetheart bodice and a blue bolero jacket. She carried a bouquet of orange and red flowers.

Serving as the bride’s honor attendants were Emily McCann and Gabriel Mayora, both of Gainesville, Fla. Bridesmaids were Adrienne Reeves Gower, also of Gainesville, and April Lassiter of Memphis. The women wore one-shoulder chiffon gowns with shirred bodices and a flower detail at the shoulder.

Flower girls were Abby and Claire Wilson of Fayetteville.

Robert Cole of Fayetteville served as his brother’s best man. The groom’s attendants were Ellie Lassiter, cousin of the groom, of Brooklyn, and Thomas McDonald of Oxford, Ohio.

Guests were seated by Timothy Robinson of Gainesville and Jewell Wilson of Cockburn Harbor, Turks and Caicos Islands.

A reception at Alda’s Magnolia Hill followed the ceremony. Guest tables were covered with ivory cloths and bronze organza overlays and were centered with a variety of vintage items including books, mercury glass, candles and milk glass vases holding flower arrangements.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Central Florida, Orlando, and a master’s degree in English from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. She is working toward a doctorate at University of Florida at Gainesville.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in English and German from Rhodes College in Memphis and master’s degree from the University of Florida. He is a doctoral student at the University of Florida.

After a Caribbean cruise, the couple will live in Gainesville.
