LR man held on murder charge after shooting

— A Little Rock man was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder Sunday after a shooting in the parking lot of a local beauty salon.

Theodore Davis Jr., 26, is accused of fatally shooting 19-year-old Davante Williams during an argument Sunday.

Police records show Davis was taken into custody about 4:10 p.m. at his home at 1321 College St.

The arrest came after the shooting at 2801 S. Arch St. left Williams with a gunshot wound in his head. Williams' girlfriend said her boyfriend shot himself, but police say they later received a call from a suspect wanting to confess the crime.

Police on Sunday didn't release the suspect's name but confirmed the call came from Davis' residence.

Williams was taken from the shooting scene to UAMS Medical Center, where he later died.
