Few lane closures expected for Thanksgiving holiday

— The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department announced Tuesday that it will have minimal lane closures on Arkansas roads during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Travel on Interstate 40 will be reduced to one lane in both directions near the White River Bridge in Prairie County. The closure will extend from mile marker 198 to 202 for eastbound traffic, and from 198 to 206 for westbound traffic, the department said.

Motorists are encouraged to consider alternate routes around the construction area including Highway 70, parallel to Interstate 40 to the south or Highway 64 to the north, between Marion and Bald Knob.

Highway 245 in Texarkana will be reduced to one lane in each direction extending from Interstate 30 southward to Highway 82.

Interstate 530 in Jefferson County will be reduced to one lane in each direction extending from the Jefferson exit in Jefferson County, northward to the Pulaski County line.
