Acxiom Corp. announced Monday that it has appointed Jena Compton as senior vice president of human resources worldwide.
Compton, who replaces 27-year company veteran Cindy Childers upon her retirement, most recently served as the company’s vice president of human resources and director of employment compliance, the Little Rock-based company said in a statement.
"People create the great ideas that drive business forward," Compton, who has worked at the company since 2000, said in the statement. "We will continue to embrace dynamic, diverse talents that build great products, innovative client solutions and rewarding career opportunities."
Before joining Acxiom, Compton was responsible for regulatory and employment compliance at Fairfield Communities Inc. in Little Rock, according to Acxiom’s website.
Acxiom’s main business is data-mining, which it uses to help customers, such as retailers, target customers in their marketing campaigns.
"Talent is to organizations what data is to marketing; they're both like air, essential to keeping business alive and growing, and keeping customers happy,"Acxiom Chief Executive Officer Scott Howe said in the statement. "Jena's knowledge and experience will help us continue to advance our worldwide employee development and recruiting efforts."

Does anyone really care about who is Acxiom's VP of Human Resources (aka paper pusher extrordinaire)?
