Cold front to deliver rain to Arkansas

By Lisa Burnett

This article was published November 26, 2012 at 9:22 a.m.

A cold front will make its way into Arkansas on Monday, causing some thunderstorms to develop across the state.

John Robinson, warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Little Rock, said temperatures and moisture will not be all that favorable for severe weather, but there could be a few isolated severe thunderstorms in the counties bordering Louisiana.

Robinson said the chances for severe weather could begin Monday afternoon but are likely to hold off until the early evening and should be out of the state by midnight. Large hail will have a greater chance of occurring than damaging winds.

The smallest rainfall totals should be in the state's west, and the largest on the east. Most rainfall amounts will be less than 1/2 inch, Robinson said.
