Events at Clinton Center, Fayetteville

— Other World AIDS Day events will include:

World AIDS Day at the Clinton Presidential Center, 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. In commemoration of World AIDS Day, the center will display the single largest traveling section of the AIDS Memorial Quilt. The center will also serve as the site for the 24-hour reading of names of individuals lost to AIDS. The observance highlights the ongoing work of the Clinton Foundation through the Clinton Health Access Initiative.

A World AIDS Day service co-hosted by HIV Arkansas and Spirit of Peace Community Church, 902 Maple St., Fayetteville, 7 p.m. Saturday at the church. This service will be dedicated to those who have lost their lives to HIV/AIDS, and celebrate survivors living with the disease today. The service will include a candle lighting ceremony and a Names Cloth - based on the concept of the names quilt - on which attendees can write the names of loved ones who have died from the disease. The event will also include musical performances by local artists, an open communion service and a time for special prayer. The service will be conducted by the Revs. Mark Williams and Roy Lenington, along with senior pastor the Rev. Sylvia Nobles. The evening will conclude with a dessert social in the fellowship hall.
