Police responded to anonymous calls at 10:30 a.m. Monday of a shooting at the intersection of South Washington Street and Park Drive in southern Forrest City.

Paramedics arrived and found Dominique Tobar, 20, shot several times, Reynolds said. Medical personnel pronounced Tobar dead at the scene, Reynolds said.

The police chief said detectives have gathered “substantial information” in the early stages of the investigation.

“We will work tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrators and bring justice to the family members of the victim,” Reynolds said in a released statement.

Police had arrested Tobar in October in an Aug. 12 robbery in Forrest City, according to the police department’s Facebook page.

Tobar and Jeremy Buchanan, 21, were charged with aggravated robbery after police said they shot a man in the leg during a robbery.

Reynolds asked anyone with information about Tobar’s death to call the Forrest City Police Department Crimestoppers at (870) 261-1499 or the department’s Criminal Investigation Division at (870) 633-3434.
