At least 12 injured in church bus wreck in Conway County

— A church bus with several senior-citizen passengers wrecked in Conway County on Tuesday morning.

Dispatchers with the Arkansas State Police said the accident occurred at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday when the bus drove off the road into a pasture on Arkansas 9.

In total, 12 victims were removed from the wreck. A spokesperson with St. Vincent Hospital in Morrilton said 10 patients were taken in with nine undergoing evaluation. One patient was taken to St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock and is in critical condition. The other nine victims are in stable condition.

Officials with the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management said two victims were airlifted from the scene to unidentified hospitals.

On the church's website, Craig Duncan, minister at Lonoke Baptist Church, shared an update on his Facebook page that the "seniors had a bad bus wreck."

In full, Duncan's post said: "Asking all people who believe in prayer to lift up my people! The Senior Saints had a bad bus wreck on the way to the Nursing Home Ministry. Information is still sketchy but med-flights are being used. Lift up in prayer!"

The extent of any injuries is unknown. Calls to the Conway County sheriff's office were not immediately returned.
