White House: Obama to meet Romney on Thursday

By The Associated Press

This article was published November 28, 2012 at 10:05 a.m.

— The White House says President Barack Obama will meet privately Thursday with his vanquished rival Mitt Romney, their first face-to-face encounter since the election.

Obama promised in his victory speech Nov. 6 to engage with Romney and consider his ideas.

The meeting comes as Obama and congressional Republicans negotiate a way out of automatic tax increases and deep spending cuts that have come to be known as the fiscal cliff.

Obama and Romney differed sharply during the campaign on how revive the economy. Obama called for higher taxes on the rich. Romney called for lower taxes on all.

The White House says the two men will meet in the White House’s private dining room. There will be no press coverage.

WHY would Obama want to meet with Mitt? So he can steal Mitt's ideas to get people back to work, the ideas HE rejected in the election?

Didn't Obama say Mitt was a vulture capitalist, wasn't it said Mitt killed a man's wife who died of cancer, didn't Obama say Mitt outsourced jobs, didn't Obama say Mitt bankrupted middle class families? Mitt should tell him and the DemocRats to take a flying leap off the short fiscal cliff they're going off of. But Mitt in true presidential form will help the Fraud in Chief.
Hey Populist... Now you'll probably think Mitt's OK.

T6,

I've always thought that Mitt, is a good husband, father, and Mormon. I just don't think that he is a good enough American to be President, and he had a different vision of what America should be than I have. Obama is doing what is politically correct. We need to work together to solve the deficit problem and other problems in America. To become stronger, Americans all need to work harder for the good of the country. We have too many slackers at the top and the bottom.

I wouldn't meet with Mitt if I was Obama after all the outrageous lies that Romney said about the President. But Obama is a better man than I am. He is attempting to put our country ahead of his ego and personal feelings.

I wonder how long Mitt will remember the lunch even happened? Given his convenient memory lapses and innumerable positions on innumerable issues throughout his laughable campaign, I'm guessing five minutes after the dessert plates are cleared.

After that? More of that same plastic grimace he's always manifested.

Mitt must have something in his brain that Obama wants. Might be the experience of actually knowing how to create JOBS!!!!!!
