Fayetteville quarterback Austin Allen, a University of Arkansas commitment, has been named Gatorade Arkansas Football Player of the Year.

The senior has connected on 214 of 338 passes for 3,395 yards and 29 touchdowns this year and will start for the Bulldogs against Bentonville in the Class 7A state championship on Friday in Little Rock. He's now a finalist for the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year.

Allen (6-foot-2, 218 pounds, 4.7-second 40-yard dash) will play in the Semper Fi All American game in Carson, California on Jan. 4.
