Entergy Arkansas has completed its purchase of the Hot Spring Energy Facility on Friday, the company said in a news release.
Entergy, who in 2011 had announced its plans to acquire the plant, said the 602-megawatt, combined-cycle natural gas turbine unit was purchased from KGen Hot Spring LLC for approximately $253 million.
The plant purchase will support the company's strategy of providing electric service at a reasonable cost, the company said.

I read last month where that purchase was being blocked by an anti-trust investigation by the Department of Justice, as reported by the Associated Press. Entergy must have made some nice contributions to the Obama campaign.
