LITTLE ROCK — A Smithville man died Monday after his truck veered off the highway and overturned, authorities said.
Thomas N. Goff Sr., 74, was driving a 1993 Chevy truck north on Arkansas 25 north of Lynn when the vehicle went off the road shortly before 2 p.m.
According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, the truck then struck an embankment and overturned.
Goff was first taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge and then moved to St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, where he was pronounced dead.
Goff was the 401st person to die in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
