MIAMI — A fire official says one person has been killed in the collapse of a parking garage under construction at a Miami-Dade College campus and that two workers are still trapped.
Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue spokeswoman Griselle Marino also said that four people have been taken to the hospital and one is in serious condition. She says three others were treated at the scene.
Marino says they do not believe more than the two workers are trapped.
Authorities said no students were in the area at the time.
Victoria Buczynski works across the street and says the garage “fell to the ground like a house of cards.”
TV reports showed one large section of the concrete structure collapsed.
