LITTLE ROCK — Republican U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin has more than $450,000 in the bank as he heads into the final few weeks of his re-election bid for a central Arkansas seat.
Griffin on Monday reported raising more than $214,000 over the past three months in his re-election bid to Arkansas’ 2nd Congressional District. Griffin spent nearly $325,000 during the quarter and has more than $450,000 cash on hand.
Griffin was elected to Congress in 2010. He has raised more than $1.5 million.
Democratic challenger Herb Rule reported raising more than $56,000 during the quarter, including a $15,000 loan he made to his campaign. Rule spent more than $59,000 over the three month period and had nearly $9,900 cash on hand.
Monday was the deadline for campaigns to report their third-quarter fundraising.
