Suspect arrested in August LR shooting

— Authorities have arrested a suspect in an August shooting in Little Rock that left the victim in critical condition.

Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis said police received information that led to the arrest Sunday of Jamar Jordan, 19, in the Aug. 23 attack.

According to a report filed in the case, officers were called about 10:30 p.m. that night to 2302 S. Valentine St.

Kiari Riggins, 23, was taken from the scene to UAMS Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound. He was listed in critical condition at the time. An update on his current condition wasn't immediately available.

Davis said she had no information on the motive in the shooting.

Jordan was arrested and Sunday and made an initial court appearance Monday.

Jail records show he is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond on charges of first-degree battery and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
