LITTLE ROCK — A group of Arkansas doctors have called a news conference to announce their opposition to a proposed constitutional amendment to legalize medical marijuana.
The group led by Little Rock Dr. David Smith said in a news release Tuesday that it will announce its opposition to the proposal Wednesday at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
The proposed initiated act on the Nov. 6 ballot would allow patients with qualifying conditions to buy marijuana from nonprofit dispensaries.
If approved, the measure would make Arkansas the first Southern state to legalize medical marijuana.
