McDaniel seeks information on alleged payday lenders

— Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel is seeking information about the practices of three companies he says are engaging in payday lending.

McDaniel’s office on Thursday filed a lawsuit that asks a Pulaski County circuit judge to order the companies to provide details on their operations.

The suit states Money Mutual LLC, Selling Source LLC and Partner Weekly LLC are all based from the same address in Las Vegas. The companies advertise the availability of what McDaniel says are payday loans, which are illegal in Arkansas. The companies link borrowers with lenders.

McDaniel first sent an investigative demand to the companies in August. He wants a judge to order the companies stop doing business in Arkansas until they comply.

The companies have not responded yet to the court filing.
