Judge won’t release package info in Colorado shooting

— The judge in the Colorado theater shooting case has decided, for now, not to release information about a package that was sent by the suspect to his psychiatrist before the massacre.

Judge William Sylvester wrote in court documents released Friday that unsealing details about the package 24-year-old James Holmes sent to University of Colorado psychiatrist Lynne Fenton could jeopardize a pending hearing on the matter. In the same document, the judge ordered that Fenton’s curriculum vitae be released, arguing the list of her accomplishments and qualifications is already in the public domain.

He also denied prosecutors’ request that victim and witness lists be redacted in court documents.

Holmes, who is charged with first-degree murder and other crimes, is accused of firing on Aurora theater-goers July 20, killing 12 people and injuring 58.
